Monthly ecommerce #3
Did the Cyber 5 sales hit the ex-year record? What is Block? And what present would you probably get this Christmas? Read our short Monthly ecommerce digest.
The Cyber 5 sales drop down
Adobe reported US consumers spent $33,9 billion online during 5 days from Thanksgiving to Cyber Monday. In 2020 this number was 1.4% higher.
The holiday shoppers preferred to buy early this year to avoid a shortage of goods - bringing a small decline in numbers. Despite the small dip, there's still a 19% growth compared with the pre-pandemic levels in 2019.
Amazon, as usual, was the leader among retailers, growing its share of the overall market and capturing 17.7% of total Black Friday spending.
Klarna released its browser extension
The feature was introduced for the US, UK, German, and France regions. With its help, the audience may use online payment services with all retailers, including those that are not partners with Klarna. The functionality includes the application of coupons and earning cashback bonuses, saving items to your private folder to monitor their price change, and creating one-time credit cards for secure payments.
The extension works with Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers, but soon will also be available for Firefox and Safari.

Another app from TikTok
TikTok Seller is a new app letting sellers simply manage their online stores via smartphone and make various operations, including registration as a seller, inventory management, performance analysis of the store.
Currently, it's available only for the Indonesian audience, where the brand is running a TikTok Shopping pilot program. For instance, earlier this year, TikTok introduced a "Seller Academy" which offers a wide library of materials sharing how to advertise products with the app and make creative videos for brands.
